Birds of Paradise are members of the family Paradisaeidae. They are mostly found in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
The members of this family are perhaps best known for highly elongated and elaborate feathers extending from the beak, wings or head in males.
In many birds of paradise, the male bird tries to get the female’s attention and approval by dancing in a highly extravagant manner. Many of these dances are very striking to look at.
Male Birds of Paradise may also try to catch attention of females by hanging upside down on a branch. These branch displays can be amazing in the way that the male performs his spectacle without falling off.
